Long-term guests from Italy

Marisa and Gabriele Seregni are a married couple from Milan. They have been coming to Losinj since 1984 and considered it their second home, which applies to their daughter as well.
During their 25 years of arrivals they have noticed many changes on the island, but still they place the highest price on its nature and crystal clear sea. From other offer on the island they regularly visit the various museums and events, but especially enjoy the fish served in restaurants. Apart from the praise, this couple also stated some problems such as parking lots and connections with other nearby islands, but what is most disappointing is the offer of souvenirs. When they return home to Italy they often take homemade brandy and marmalade.

New parking places for guests

Location Budovina has been ignored until now, but now it has its own function and it will be useful both for people of Losinj and their guests.
Investment in this parking lot is worth 1.5 million kunas and will have multiple benefits, from improving the quality of life and the stronger tourism offer. Space of the parking lot can accommodate 115 cars at the area of three thousand square meters. Apart from the payment of parking by the hour, it will be possible to take a ticket for a longer period of time, including annual tickets. On this occasion opening of a new parking lot with 330 parking places in the next two years was announced.

New traffic lines

Season began, so from June 1st Cres-Lošinj archipelago is better linked with the Croatian mainland, both with ferry and bus lines.
Special attention is given to all the guests from Zagreb, who will get nine lines, one more than a year earlier in June and two in July, of which three daily lines will be direct, which means that Zagreb will now be much "closer" with a trip of three and a half hours, more than an hour shorter than usual. All Slovenians will also be happy when they get regular bus lines to Ljubljana in July.
Apart from buses, Jadrolinija starts with ferries, but unfortunately with higher prices. New price per car is 113 kuna, and for passengers 17 kuna. It is n only cost that increased, but also the number of ferry trips on lines Brestova - Porozina and Valbiska - Merag, while lines with catamarans will go from Rijeka and catamaran Bisevo will connect Pula, Mali Losinj, Ilovik, Unije and Zadar. Cooperation with the region of Veneto

Town of Mali Losinj recently hosted a delegation from the Italian region of Veneto, the richest region of Italy. The reason for this visit is the future cooperation between Losinj and Veneto, both on economic and cultural level, and we also must commend the guests from Italy because of their intent to donate approximately 100 thousand euros for the Kvarner Palace and Apoksiomen museum. In addition, there was talk about opening an Italian preschool in Mali Losinj. After dealing with all these serious topics, Tourist board's promotional DVD on Losinj was shown to the guests.

"Losinjska plovidba" anniversary

Mali Losinj has recently celebrated a very valuable anniversary. "Losinjska plovidba" shiping company, well known company that deals with navigation, shipbuilding and tourism, has celebrated 50 years of activity.
For this occasion a monograph ""Losinjska plovidba" 1958.-2008." was presented, which contains most important parts of history of the company. At the time of establishment "Losinjska plovidba" was comprised of only a dozen weak wooden boats, but today its sailors and ships explore all the World's seas and oceans. Except from the glorious past, the need for further development in the future was stressed out, with the realization of 100 million euros of investments.
Along with the monograph, exhibition in the palace Fritzzy was held as a part of the ceremony with the performance by men's klapa Cikat and women's klapa Augusta, followed by socializing at the famous Losinj restaurant Zakantuni.
